Maypole
(Empress)

The Maypole represents all Spring fertility rites. After the bleakness of Winter, the first Mayblossom heralds the arrival of Oestre (Easter), the goddess who brings new life to the barren land.
Fertility, abundance, new arrivals, the joy of youth are all celebrated in the Maypole dance.
