Lambs 2014 - Floozies and Philanderers

This was supposed to be a year without lambs as I am trying to downsize. The sheep had another agenda however, well....okay, I was too slow to separate the ewes and rams. Looks like only one unplanned pregnancy resulted from that error in judgement:

This is Don Juan, out of Lapsang, sire by who knows? Based on his spotting pattern I'm betting his sire is Coriander. If he developes into a likely looking ram I'll invest in DNA testing.

Now, here is a conundrum. Five new lambs resulted with no known interaction between ewes and rams. Really?

May 1st, Dresden presented me with twins, Geisha and Gigolo.

Geisha is the black on the left and Gigolo is the gray on the right.

May 12th, Calliope had a single moorit ewe, Courtesan.

May 17th, Red Rose had a single black katmoget ram lamb, Casanova.

May 19th, Marjoram had a single dark moorit ewe lamb, Mata Hari.

The heavier than normal snowfall contributed to the next "error". Botany Bay jumped ship from the junior ram pen and I found him consorting with the ewes one morning. He was hastily returned to his compadres and I'm crossing my fingers that no "indiscretions" result near the end of June.

Around the same time, Caraway, that shameless hussy, jumped into the senior ram pen...heavy sigh....I'm using cow panels next year:-(

Addendum:

Botany Bay did make a contribution. His lambs started to make their appearance end of June, early July...

Magnolia had twin rams, one moorit (aka Bill Clinton) and one gray (Philanderer).

Loblolly's little gray katmoget (polled) ram, Libertine, has exceptional crimp.

Poor little Sydney (just a lamb herself) had a striking moorit spotted ram lamb, Satyr.

Caraway gave birth to a leggy singleton moorit ram, Rake.
