Night 3, (somehow I missed a day last week) and Koror tribe is not feeling very well. While they won immunity, their reward of flint was lost when their outrig- ger was swamped and capsized. Caryn is most unhappy with Tom, who was the one who suggested that they choose the adventure of the new beach, ra- ther than the familiarity of where they had first made camp. Katie thinks that Caryn should just shut-up. Janu is freaked out by a couple of rats that she sees scurrying about. All in all, Koror seems to be questioning themselves and their decisions.
Day 4 at Ulong and the gang awakes. Stephanie and James are both happy that Jolanda is gone. They decide to give democracy a try. Little do they realize that they are all under the thumb of The Evil One, as tree-mail informs them it's time for a Reward Challenge. Today's event is another obstacle course testing one's balance and tenacity. Use a rope to swing, Tarzan-style, unto the course, first traversing a set of rolling drums, then a balance beam, then a rope bridge. 10 tribal flags must be collected, one at a time, and then returned across the same course. All the while, two players from each tribe work various lines controlling swinging sandbags, as they attempt to knock opponents off the course. Reward for the 1st tribe to gather it's 10 flags is a set of fishing gear: scuba mask and snorkel, flippers, and the ever popular Hawaiian sling. This challenge is all Ulong's, as Koror is held up by the lack- luster performance of Katie. She has much trouble with the rope swing, and Ulong builds a decisive lead and wins the reward, plus a flint for fire making. Jeff tells Koror they better try recovering their lost flint.
Ulong returns to camp and get's a fire started right away. They then try their hand at fishing with the sling, and spear some small fish. Fish Fry Tonight! Angie is congratulated by several members, as she did an outstanding job during the challenge, getting two flags for the team, including the very first. Over at Koror, Ian and Tom attempt to find and retrieve their lost flint. Cory and others think they are looking in the wrong place, but it's Cory who is wrong. Ian locates the box in 25 foot water. A number of dives are required for them to attach a line to the box, which is wedged against some coral. But after much work and effort, the flint is secured and Koror now also has fire! Let's hear it for Dolphin Boy! Eeeeeeeeh! Eeeeeeeeh! Eeeeeeeeeh!!! That evening, Ulong's fish-fry has no appeal for Ashley. She has not been doing well and is headed for a shut-down mode. She excuses herself and leaves the rest to go to bed early. When the party does finally break up, it's Kim and Lil'Jeff who pair off. Angie notices how cozy these two are getting and sus- pects an alliance of two is forming.
Day 5 and more treemail arrives. It's an old World War 2 tin mess-kit and a sheet of paper with the alphabet and Morse Code. The tribes are to practice Morse Code for the Immunity Challenge.
Day 6 and it's Immunity Challenge time. It's a 2-parter. First, the tribes must dive underwater and pull on a rope, which drags a WW2 footlocker 50 feet along the bottom. Every 10 ft and a marker is released. Once the locker is at the end, the tribes must dive more and get it open, which then releases 8 mess-kits, that then float to the surface. The tin mess-kits each have a letter painted on them in Morse Code. Part 2 is getting the tins to shore and lining them up properly to spell the word IMMUNITY. Neither tribe can begin doing either task till all members are gathered at either the platform off shore, or later at the spelling table. Koror sits out Katie, who did so poorly last time, and this causes them to fall behind early, as Willard swims very slowly. But although Ulong starts with a slight lead, Koror, being the 'Smart Tribe', uses a buddy-system of having two divers working together to drag the locker. They quickly make up lost ground and pass Ulong up. Tom and Ian, once more, prove their value at water competitions. Koror then glides to an easy win and has immunity once again.
Ulong returns to camp to find that rain had smothered their fire. Hot embers are gathered and taken to a nearby cave, where they are stoked and the fire is restored. Then the politics begin. Half the tribe wants Kim booted, as she did not dive a single time during the challenge. Lil'Jeff doesn't want his babe voted off, so he attempts to rally votes to boot Ashley. His argument is that Ashley has already checked out and is useless. There is much back-and-forth debating and scrambling. Kim confronts James and asks him to swear that he will tell her if he votes against her. James, who had been leaning towards booting Kim initially, assures her that he won't. Bobby Joe talks with the new queen-bee, Stephanie, to get her take on the situation. He sees himself as the swing vote. It's either going to be a 4-4 tie, or he will break the deadlock.
Tribal Council time and Jeff begins with Angie, heroine of the Reward Chal- lenge. She blushes and admits that she feels more comfortable tonight than she did last time. The budding relationship between Kim and Lil'Jeff is then discussed. Is it love or strategy? And now that it is obvious, will they be viewed as a threat by the rest? Both Kim and Lil'Jeff squirm and make ex- cuses as to why they should not be seen as an undividable alliance. It's time to vote. Kim and Lil'Jeff each get one, five are counted against Ashley. The last vote is not read. Big Jeff snuffs out Ashley's torch and she departs. He tells Ulong they better get focused. Will they? Hehehe!
SPOILERS: Koror tries to bag a shark that comes into shallow water. Ulong suffers a major setback, possibly from Lil'Jeff's body checking out. Back at Koror, Caryn and Katie go at it. Ooooh! Catfight!!!
