Day 4 and we begin at Camp Hiki. Since Jeff gave the tribe a piece of flint at Tribal Council, they decide to try and make a fire. No drinkable water for four days makes this urgent. Nate tries and tries then gives up frustrated. The women take over, as they did the previous night. Rebecca takes a crack at it, and succeeds! Hiki celebrates as they boil their first pot of water.
Meanwhile, over at Aitu, the gang goes fishing and beach combing. Several fish are caught as well as crabs and clams. Cristina shares that she is a police officer and relates how she had been shot in the left arm and almost lost it. I can relate to that, having almost losing my right leg. They then try to trap some of the wild chickens which are on the island. Ozzy sets up the trap but Cristina is not happy with it. The two debate the best method but Ozzy knows best. They net a chicken but the victory causes Cristina to go off and sulk as the bird cooks on a spit. Puka Tribe also sets up a trap for chickens and bags two at once! Yul and Becky, both of Korean decent, form an alliance. Over at Raro, Jon returns from Exile Island empty-handed. He is dismayed that no further progress has been made on the shelter since his departure. He and Jessica/Flicka decide it's time to continue building a raised floor. Adam disagrees, arguing that it's a waste of time and energy. But the rest prefer to sleep on a dry floor and maybe be warmer. Miffed, Adam seeks solace from his cuddle-bunny, Candace, who is more than ready to offer it to him.
Day 5 and Aitu is out catching more fish, that is except for Billy. He needs his rest and must conserve energy. Billy and Adam share this idea, and much more, as we will later learn! Ozzy is getting irritated with Billy's lazi- ness. Billy doesn't care what the others think of him, he feels like an out- sider. At Camp Puka, Dr. Cao Boi works another hands-on miracle curing Jenny of a headache. She also gets branded on her forehead by Cowboy's healing ways. At night, the good doctor annoys everyone with his ethnic jokes. Cao Boi turns out to be a bad Don Rickles. The rest of Puka doesn't appreciate his stereotypical humor. Over at Aitu, the tribe doesn't appre- ciate Billy's snoring. Unable to sleep, they discuss throwing the next chal- lenge in order to rid themselves of Billy.
Day 6 and tree-mail arrives announcing the next combo Reward/Immunity Challenge. Included with the poetic clue are shackles, indicating that the tribe members will be joined as they perform. Ozzy and JP again talk about throwing the challenge. The tribes gather and Jeff explains the challenge. After Jeff tells them a story about Captain Cook's three voyages to the Pacific, the tribes will be shackled as they must traverse an obstacle course to recover seven answer plaques. Once doing this, they must then match the correct answer with five question plaques, then stand on their finish mats. At anytime they feel stumped, they may return to their starting mat where a book containing the story is. Reward for the first tribe is a tarp.
The challenge itself is the usual fair of obstacles which must be crawled under or climbed over. Aitu starts off by reading the story book, wasting valuable time. Puka, Raro, and Hiki are dead even at first. Hiki has some trouble untying a few of the answer plaques, and they fall behind. Raro and Puka are out front as both arrive at the last station to match answers with the questions. Raro appears to finish first but not all tribe members are on the finish mat. Puka completes their matching and jump towards the mat. Jeff seems to hesitate for a moment, then declares Puka the winners. Raro is second and Hiki finishes third. However, a review of the tape leads Jeff to declare a tie between Raro and Puka, so both tribes win tarps. Aitu then chooses Yul of Puka to be exiled. Why they choose him is puzzling, since he sat out the challenge, along with Adam of Raro and JP of Aitu.
Aitu returns to camp and Cristina is not happy at all with The Plan or with Ozzy. Billy knows he's in trouble and faces elimination. Yul arrives on Exile Island and reads the clues. Like Jonathan, he knows he must form a letter using a mast. But Yul figures out that there are only two places where the mast lines up with distant islands to form an 'A'. Yul marks them both and begins digging. Low and behold, Yul finds the Immunity Idol!!! Back at Aitu, Billy and Cristina go off to fetch water. They hatch a plot to boot Ozzy. Cristina promises to talk with Cecilia, which she does. Ozzy suspects that Billy is scheming to save himself. Billy hopes his plan works.
At Tribal Council, Jeff asks who has emerged as a leader? Billy answers that Ozzy has and Cristina agrees. Ozzy disagrees that he's a leader, and argues that he is merely knowledgeable and hard working. JP then blows the lid off the conspiracy and admits that they deliberately threw the chal- lenge to boot Billy. Jeff is amazed at this! Billy and JP then spar about work ethic and trust. Billy then declares that he has fallen in love with Candace of Raro tribe. Jeff is amazed at this! Jeff asks if she has told Billy how she feels but Billy explains that they've only had eye contact and have not talked much. But nonetheless, Billy is enthralled by her. The rest of Aitu smirks and giggles. Jeff wants to know what they think about this romance? Cristina ducks the question but offers that she's unhappy with the back-stabbing. It's time to vote. Billy votes to boot Ozzy, and the rest vote to boot lover-boy Billy.
SPOILERS: Nature bites back as an octopus attacks a contestant, possibly one from Puka Tribe. Parvati of Raro decides to work her assets and charms. Cao Boi continues to annoy the rest of Puka.
