It's Day 9 for our slap-happy castaways. Over at Aitu Beach, a boat arrives to return Candice from Exile Island. The Aituians ponder about why Raro Tribe had chosen Candice to be exiled, thus safe from Tribal Council? She has no explanation, other than maybe it was because she was the youngest. Others consider that Candice was being saved by Adam and Pavrati, per- haps in hopes of rekindling an alliance after The Merge. Perhaps they are in love with Candice just as Billy was. LOL!!! Speaking of love in Raro Tribe, there is very little of it between the boys and girls. The ladies appear to be doing most of the work and are none too pleased about it. They trash-talk The Boys, who prefer chillin' by the fire. But the Raro Boys seem uncon- cerned about it. While sensing some tension from the gals, they could care less that the girls think they're ruling the roost as they realize that THEY are Raro's strength. THEY are quite comfortable in their position of power.
Day 10 and it's time for a Reward Challenge. Each tribe selects two mem- bers to be attached to each other via a belt. The belt is connected to a long rope which runs through an obstacle course. The remaining tribe members must assist the two through the course. Becky and Candice are belted for Aitu, and Jenny and Cristina are likewise for Raro. Once through the course, one member swims off shore and dives to retrieve a decoder wheel. Once back on shore, the wheel is used to match numbers to letters and spell out a message. Aitu develops an early lead but Raro is generally close behind. Then Aitu gets a break when Raro gets hung up on the last obstacle. Jenny and Cristina disagree with the way The Raro Boys are man-handling them. Ozzy swims for Aitu and gets the wheel quickly. While Raro does recover and again closes the gap, Aitu has time to solve the code. Aitu wins some pillows and blankets, as well as the choice for who goes to Exile Island next. They choose Adam to be exiled.
Aitu celebrates their victory back at camp. While concerned about the sheer brawn of Raro Tribe, Aitu regains some confidence and spirit. Another fishing expedition yields a good catch, with Ozzy being the most success- ful. He feels confident in his role as a provider. Back at Raro, attitudes have less altitude. They are feeling low after the loss. To add insult to injury, JP resumes his role as tribal king and bosses around the women. Pavrati is getting tired of this. At night, she flirts and schmoozes Nate, pumping him for inside info on The Boys alliance. She lets Nate know that there is dis- satisfaction about JP's leadership. Nate consoles her and advises that they should let JP hang himself.
Day 11 and Aitu is out foraging for food. They come across a bird's nest and Cao Boi climbs the tree to get some eggs. He knocks the nest down, but the rest discover no eggs, only a newborn chick. Feeling bad about the intrusion, Cao Boi replaces the nest and all are happy-clappy again.
Day 12 and it's time for the Immunity Challenge. Adam rejoins Raro as Jeff explains the event. It's another variation of the Rescue Stretcher Race. One member from each tribe is shackled to a ship's mast off shore. Candice for Aitu and Pavrati for Raro. Four members from each tribe must first assem- ble a 'puzzle-stretcher', then carry it to the beach. One of the four must then swim out to free their tribemate and return with a life preserver. Once the rest carry their victim back to the starting mat, the remaining three members must build a fire to burn a rope to win. Raro gets an early lead and JP swims to free Pavrati. But Aitu is right behind, with Ozzy making up the distance and then passing JP up. Ozzy and Candice head back to shore first and from there, Aitu maintains it's lead. While both tribes struggle to build their fires, Cao Boi of Aitu works his Zen magic and gets their blaze roaring. Raro falls behind more as Stephenie hurts herself while striking the flint. Aitu wins Immunity!
Raro sulks back to camp after their second loss. Stephenie feels bad about her role in the outcome and admits responsibility for the loss. She thinks she's the weakest link and offers herself up for tonight's vote. Rebecca and Jenny are worried about this. They want the women to stick together and vote off JP. They talk things over with Stephenie, who now regrets her previous guilt. Jenny confers with Pavrati about the plan, but Pavrati thinks she's tight with Nate so she tells Jenny that now may not be the time to boot JP as he is strong for challenges. Cristina and Rebecca work on Brad to secure him as a back-up vote.
At Tribal Council, Nate tells all he's still feeling his way post-merge. Jenny reluctantly fingers JP as the tribe's leader. JP admits that he's taken the point but adds that he was as much to blame for today's loss as Stephenie. Stephenie says that anyone of them could have had the same trouble mak- ing a fire. Brad and Pavrati say that they trust everyone. Stephenie is more guarded with her trust. Rebecca tells Jeff she wants her vote to make the tribe stronger. It's time to vote. Nate and JP vote to boot Stephenie. The rest blind-side JP! He congratulates them for their deception, he never saw it coming. After JP takes his walk of shame, Jeff voices his skepticism of Raro's choice, hoping that they have a plan to regroup.
SPOILERS: Cao Boi perceives Aitu's women as being lazy. Raro Tribe gets some unexpected company.
