Day 16 and Aitu Tribe entertains their guest, Nate of Raro. Having saved him from Tribal Council the night before, Aitu is obliged to feed Nate now. And perhaps pump him for some information. Nate responds by telling Aitu how wonderful he is, what a great swimmer he is, good provider, etc. Nate takes note of the differences in the local food supply. He also records Jessica's open concerns about not being let in on the vote to boot Cao Boi. She sus- pects that the others are not trusting her. Yul, Candice and Becky have a private chat bout this as they update the boot-order. Ozzy is next and will be followed by Jessica instead of Sundra. They even discuss bumping Jonathan up ahead of Sundra, maybe even booting him before The Merge.
Tree-mail announces the Reward Challenge. It comes with the "Survivor Catalog". Not exactly "Sharper Image", but more useful. Each tribe is to make two selections from the catalog prior to the challenge. Aitu decides on bread and peanut butter. At Raro, they seem to be leaning the same till Brad argues for potatoes instead of bread, as they will keep longer. The challenge requires each tribe to field three swimmers and two puzzle sol- vers. Off shore are platforms with six suspended tiles each. One swimmer at a time must go to the platform, climb up it, and jump off as they whack at a tile in mid-flight. When the tile breaks, a key is released from within. The swimmer must then dive to retrieve it. Once all six keys are ashore, the puzzler solvers then must use the keys to obtain the puzzle pieces, then assemble it. The puzzle itself is a world map.
Aitu gets off to an early lead as Ozzy swims against Rebecca. While she succeeded in busting her tile, she was unable to get the key. Meanwhile, Yul is in the water and gets his key, passing up Rebecca as she returns to shore empty-handed. Adam swims out and fetches her key while Candice goes for Aitu's third key. But Candice has a problem as she can't find it! She returns empty-handed and Ozzy swims out for it while Pavrati goes for Raro's second key. Ozzy finds that the key is still hanging in the tile and breaks it some more with his bare fist. Aitu is still in the lead but Raro is now only behind by one. Aitu gets their remaining keys without incident and begins working on their puzzle. Pavrati has the same problem Candice had with Raro's sixth key, but she quickly climbs the platform again and completes her mission. Becky and Jon solve the puzzle first and Aitu wins their chosen rewards. They also decide to send Adam to Exile Island.
Aitu celebrates their victory with a bread and peanut butter feast. Jessica and Candice even share a peanut butter kiss!!! All is not so well over at Raro. Rebecca blames herself for the loss. Nate asks Brad why he was not part of the swimming team? Brad answers that he's stronger at solving puzzles. Nate isn't buying it and neither are Pavrati and Jenny. They all blame Brad for the loss, but there's no time to bicker as a storm is approach- ing. Nate scrambles to get food and firewood but it hits. On Exile Island, Adam is also concerned and works on a shelter. Adam comments that, "It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys", as he fumes over today's loss. The storm hits hard forcing Adam into a fetal po- sition to stay warm.
Day 17 and Ozzy catches a bird with his bare hands. Yul helps him prepare the bird for lunch. The others are all in awe over Ozzy's remarkable skills. There seems to be nothing he cannot do. This also makes him a potential threat post-Merge. Ozzy attempts to form an alliance with Jessica and Candice. Ozzy wants Jonathan out, as he seems to spend too much time scheming. Ozzy plays the food card and lets the gals know that he'll take care of them all the way. What a guy!
Day 18 and it's time for the Immunity Challenge. Another 'fetch the puzzle pieces' game. This time each tribe must first assemble a stairway with logs of varying height to scale to the top of a platform on the beach. From it, one member at a time will zip-line off shore to where three floats are anchored. On each is a satchel of puzzle pieces. Once all three are retrieved first tribe to assemble their puzzle wins. Aitu again has a lead, but it's a slim one. They get their three bags first to shore and Becky, Sundra and Jessica begin working on the puzzle. Raro is right behind as Adam, Jenny and Rebecca work on their puzzle. Both tribes are doing well, but Raro figures it out first and makes a come from behind win!
Back at camp, Ozzy is concerned about being booted and starts campaign- ing for Jonathan to get the axe. Candice isn't sure if she wants either Ozzy or Jon to go tonight, she's concerned about Jessica's wishy-washy attitude. Becky weighs the possibility of dumping Jonathan now before The Merge. Jonathan talks with Sundra and Candice about booting Jessica. Her public dissatisfaction about the Cao Boi vote and her constant babbling is wearing on their nerves. Jon pitches the idea to Yul, who knows about the other strategy of booting the untrustworthy Jonathan off.
At Tribal Council, Jonathan doesn't think that the original ethnic divisions matter anymore. Alliances are now based on personal relationships. Sundra agrees but adds that ethnicity does lay a common ground for such relationships. Jessica says she's friends with Ozzy and that everyone gets along. Yul thinks that Jessica is the one person nobody worries about scheming or plotting. Ozzy tells Jeff he likes his role as tribal provider. It's time to vote. Jessica votes to boot Jonathan. The rest toss her out. When you play in the middle of the street, you're road-kill!
SPOILERS: It's everyman for themselves at Raro as Brad loses his trust in others. Jeff gives the contestants ten seconds to decide if they want to switch tribes!
