It's Day 25 and we find Jonathan up early at Camp Raro. He's going fishing while the rest stay in the sack. They eventually begin to stir and decide to get a fire going before Jonathan returns. Unfortunately, the lazy bums suck at everything! Jonathan comes back with a load of fish and is less than hap- py with his tribe-mates. He barks some orders to get them organized. This causes Nate and Parvati to head for the beach seeking peace and quiet. Jon wonders if he'll have to assume a more authoritarian role to motivate the slackers.
At Camp Aitu, the gang is feeling the aches of success. Yul is all cramped up from exhaustion and lack of water. Sundra has a nasty wound on her right knee. Winning four competitions in a row has taken it's toll on Aitu.
Both tribes are gathered, presumably for a Reward Challenge. Aitu learns of the double-boot at last night's Tribal Council when they see that Raro is short two players, Rebecca AND Jenny. Jeff unveils a basket of paints and brushes. It's The Merge!!! New buffs are handed out. After a short discus- sion, where Jonathan assured Aitu that Raro Beach was rat-free and more coconuts, all decide to live there. A large bamboo raft crewed by natives awaits to take the contestants home. Onboard is a feast, complete with beer and wine! Adam and Nate have too much fun and beer. Both vomit up their gluttony. Jonathan is unhappy about their lack of focus. Once on shore, we learn that the new single tribe has chosen the name Aitutonga, combining their previous tribal names. Nate and Ozzy gauge the loyalties of each other. Ozzy considers if Nate is 'flip-worthy'. Meanwhile, Adam and Candice get more quality time together.
Day 26 finds Yul and Becky discussing their lack of numbers. They need to get one of the Raros to flip. Yul thinks their best bet is Jonathan. He meets up with Jonathan and poses the possibility of Jon siding with the ex-Aitu crowd. The subject of the secret Immunity Idol is raised. Yul all but admits to having it. Jonathan suspects as much, but also is concerned that Ozzy will not trust him anyway. Yul proposes a "What If" scenario where they use the idol. Should the ex-Raros go after him, whoever the ex-Aitus vote for will be booted. Jonathan understands and tells Yul he'll think about it.
Day 27 and Yul tells Sundra that he has the idol and is scheming to use it to flip Jonathan over to their side. Yul also tells Ozzy, who seems happy with the plan. Meanwhile, Parvati and Candice discuss the boot-order and plan on targeting Yul first. Jonathan tells Candice that Yul has talked with him about flipping and alludes that targeting Ozzy first would be better.
Immunity Challenge time! As usual, the first individual immunity is an en- durance test. Each is to use a ladder to get up a twenty foot pole. Once there, they must hang on for dear life. Contestants may not touch the very top of the pole. Nate and Adam have trouble right from the beginning. Both lose their grip early and Adam is out first. Jonathan tells Jeff he's having trouble though he hoped his big feet would give him more traction. Yul then gives us a lesson in physics weighing the resistance of friction versus the effect of gravity on mass. LOL! The show-off! Jon is out second followed by Nate. Sundra is out fourth. Gravity finally catches up with Mister Science and Yul is out fifth. About an hour has gone by and it starts to rain. Parvati struggles but slides right down the wet pole. Becky falls off after 90 minutes. It's now down to Candice versus Ozzy as the rain turns into a downpour. Amazingly, both hold on tight. After the two-hour mark, Candice begins to struggle. At 2:15, she finally runs out of pole and hits the dirt. Ozzy wins the first individual Immunity Challenge! Like we didn't know that would happen!
Nate is happy Ozzy won as they had bonded a bit. He thinks Ozzy is a great competitor. Adam isn't happy at all and realizes that Ozzy will be a force to contend with. The talk shifts to booting Yul, which Parvati agrees. Yul shows Jonathan the secret Immunity Idol, confirming that he found it. Yul goes one step further and tells Jonathan that if he does flip, he'll take Jon all the way to the Final Two. After all, if Jonathan does flip, he'll be hated by everyone on The Jury! Back at camp, Jonathan floats the scenario that Yul might have the idol. Adam doubts this, so Yul remains a target, though Adam is getting worried about Nate's loyalties. Nate does seem to be spend- ing a lot of time with Ozzy of late. Jonathan then chats privately with Yul about booting Nate first over Adam. This causes Yul to wonder if Jon is playing him to boot Nate to protect Adam. Jonathan tells Uncle Cameraman that whatever he does, he's going to piss off somebody.
At Tribal Council, Jeff wants to know how The Merge is going? Jonathan complains about the cramped sleeping arrangements. Sundra airs her views on how one must now start thinking on an individual level. Nate brags about how tight the old tribal alliances are. Yul acknowledges that the odds are against the ex-Aitus. Becky weighs in on the subject of Candice and Adam's relationship. Parvati confirms that they love each other and want to make babies. LOL! That would be good for ratings! Jonathan says he's not worried about a romance flourishing. Ozzy declares that tonight's vote will be pivotal. It's time to vote. Jeff reads the ballots and it comes down to four each for Nate and Yul. The final ballot has Nate's name on it. Jonathan did flip and all the ex-Raros glare at him. Nate is pissed and rants about Jonathan at the confessional.
SPOILERS: Jonathan's betrayal causes sparks to fly back at camp. Things get worse as the new Aitu plus Jon voting block take The Game further by not sharing food with the others.
