Day 39 and the boys are feeling great in the morning. JT starts the routine and builds a fire. Stephen is happy JT brought him along and tells JT that they will be friends for life. They find breakfast goodies at the tree-mail site. Bacon, eggs, sausage, bread and champagne! They chow down and toast each other. They've come along way together. But now each states they will play hard to win the million dollars!
It's Tribal Council time. Jeff does his usual explanation for the Final TC. Stephen makes his opening remarks first. He begins by praising JT and all of his hard work and skills that got him to the Finals. But then he goes into some weird speech about how it was actually him, not JT, who really work harder. He mentions that he had never been camping before and how he enjoyed sharing the experience with everyone. JT makes a more humble, common sense speech. He says he played The Game straight and with honesty.
It's time for The Jury to get their chance to speak. Brendan goes first and challenges Stephen on his 'better-through-growth' concept. Stephen believes he is the better man since he had grown more than JT. Brendan doesn't seem to be buying it, who would? Maybe a Democrat, LOL! JT says that he played the harder game and that Stephen flew low under the radar.
Erinn is next and questions Stephen about how he betrayed all three of his alliances (the Exile, Warrior and J3 alliances)? He says he zigged and zagged when he had to get further in The Game. She then asks JT about the whole 'warrior/taking the best to the end' thingy. He answers he wanted to win it the hard way.
Debbie tells the boys she hasn't made up her mind yet. She asks JT about his honesty, she feels he may have fooled her. JT mentions how his mom told him to do whatever it took to win, even to lie if needed. Debbie asks Stephen who he would have taken to the Finals had he won immunity? After some ducking, he admits that he would have taken Erinn.
Coach tells the boys he's very proud of them both. He makes some analogy about testing iron against iron. LOL! Coach asks JT about his playing with honesty and nobility. JT said he kept his promises, reminding Coach that he did honor his word and not voted against him. He adds that he has continued by keeping his promise to Stephen, even though it may cost him a million dollars. Coach asks Stephen the same question. Stephen's answer is cryptic, saying he did not "weasel" his way out of responsibility in voting everyone off. Unlike JT, huh? LOL!
Sierra is next and gives Stephen a pass. She goes after JT for his 'warrior' thingy. Sierra points out that had JT REALLY wanted to go against the best, he would've have taken Brendan, Coach or even Taj to the Finals. JT sticks with his decisions.
Tyson asks JT if he needed Stephen to make it to the Finals. JT admits that he probably would have gotten there without him. Stephen is asked the same question and disputes Tyson's insinuation that he rode JT's coattails.
Taj is the last one up. She's unhappy and feels betrayed. She asks JT why he kept his word with Coach and not with her? JT says that voting to boot her instead of Erinn was the hardest decision he made. She asks Stephen about his betrayal of her. Stephen claims that he protected her many times, as JT wanted her voted off earlier. JT counters this charge and the two Finalists bicker with each other. JT now regrets not bringing Erinn instead. He feels like a fool now. Oh-oh!
