Okay folks, here we go. Season 6 of "Survivor" takes place in Brazil, near Manaus, along the Amazon River. Premiering February 13th, this installment shall begin with the tribes divided by gender. The 8 ladies will form the Jaburu (stork) Tribe, and the men will form the Tambaqui (a type of fish) Tribe. Here is a rundown on the cast…
The men are: Alex Bell, 32, a triathlon trainer from Los Angeles, CA (and rumored to be a regular at the infamous Bellie's bar), Butch Lockley, 50, a middle school principal from Olney, IL, Daniel Lue, 27, a tax accountant from Houston, TX, Dave Johnson, 22, a rocket scientist (yep, that's right) from Pasadena, CA, Matthew Von Ertfeldo, 33, a restaurant designer from Washington, DC, Rob Cesternino, 24, a com- puter projects co-ordinator from Wantaugh, NY, Roger Sexton, 56, a vice president of estimating from Valencia, CA, and Ryan Aiken, 23, a model and actor from Ellicott City, MD.
The ladies are: Christy Smith, 24, a children's adventure guide for the deaf (incidentally, she is hearing-challenged) from Basalt, CO, Deena Bennett, 35, a deputy D.A. from Riverside, CA, Heidi Strobel, 24, a P.E. teacher from Eldon, MO, Janet Koth, 47, a travel agent/abstinence counselor from Manchester, MO, Jeanne Herbert, 41, a director of marketing from North Attleborg, MA, Jenna Morasca, 21, a swimsuit model (woo-hoo) from Pittsburgh, PA, JoAnna Ward, 31, a school guidance counselor from Orangesburg, SC, and Shawna Mitchell, 23, a retail clothing sales person from Redwood City, CA.
Early reports are that the men got squared away early, while the ladies were slow in getting their shelter built. Much more rain than in Thailand, too. I have to wonder if Dave Johnson - Rocket Scientist, will build a radio or a bicycle out of bamboo and coconuts? My 'spidey-sense' tells me a woman may win this season. But it's too early to say who will outwit, outplay, and outlast the others, and become the sole Survivor, and win $1,000,000! We'll be here watching!!!
