Day 34 finds Jenna and Heidi complaining more. If the heat, humidity, and betrayal weren't enough, now Jenna has a case of tonsillitis. Her throat is swollen, she's feverish, no energy, and is having trouble swallowing. Heidi is sympathetic, but the guys are not. Rob, ever the master of tact, tells them that he is voting off Heidi next, then Jenna. The girls are not amused, and vow to go out fighting. Meanwhile, Butch is cornering the market on fire- wood. There's dry wood everywhere. Hmmm.
Tree-mail brings news of the last Reward Challenge. So the troops pack up, storing the firewood in the wood shelter, and then place some embers there as well, just in case it should rain. Subplot, subplot! I often wonder what Crow and Tom Servo would say if they were watching "Survivor"? Anyway, the gang gathers with Jeff, the host with the most, Probst, who explains the complicated mega-challenge. As this is the last reward event, it's another multi-part one, incorporating elements from previous challenges. The prize is a Saturn Ion, and a truck-full of hibachi and food. The lead shifts from Butch, to Rob, then finally Matthew, who wins, again. He starts up the car and throws the air conditioning on full blast. His tribe mates hop in and enjoy the cool air. Jeff reminds him of the food portion of the reward and that Matthew may invite one guest. He had promised Rob a meal early on, so Rob and Matthew stay behind as the rest sulk back to camp.
Matt and Rob congratulate each other's good fortune. They slap each other on the back and praise themselves. The two are in control of The Game and now knee deep in chicken, hot dogs, and "Flintstone-size" burgers (they were actually called Bronto-burgers, by the way). Matt tells Rob he may borrow the car and cruise for chicks when Matt returns to his home planet. Meanwhile, back at the camp, we are treated to scenes of the embers ignit- ing, and building to a roaring fire. The camera cuts back and forth between Matthew with the hibachi, and the ever-growing fire at Camp Jacaré. "I'm really a pyro", admits Matthew (like we didn't guess that already), then cut back to scenes of the fire raging out of control, spreading through the camp.
Butch, Heidi, and Jenna return to find the camp destroyed. Everything is gone, except for Heidi's belongings, which were below the floor of the shel- ter. Butch momentarily considers his blame for this tragedy, but quickly dismisses it. Jenna is furious, as some of her belongings are irreplaceable. They salvage what they can and begin rebuilding. Rob and Matthew return and see the disaster. Rob tells Uncle Cameraman that Butch is to blame.
Day 35 and The Guys start building a new fire shelter. Jenna and Heidi decide to slack-off, as they know they will soon be voted off. The noble Matthew tells Uncle that even if his head were on the block, he'd still pitch in and do his share of chores. It's Immunity Challenge time, and the gang heads off. It's a rope course, with five different rope-themed obstacles to overcome. At each are colored feathers to be retrieved. First to gather all five of their feathers wins. Matthew gets an early lead and never looks back. He wins easily. Jeff gives him the, now charred, Immunity Necklace.
Day 36 and we are back with Jenna's health problems. She is crashing, physically and emotionally. Heidi proposes to Rob that the humane thing to do is to vote off Jenna so she may get some medical attention. Rob shoots back that it's only a difference of one more day. Heidi is toast. At Tribal Council, she slits her own throat even more, declaring to Jeff and the others that she's been a "mastermind" behind much of the politics all season long. One of the jurors, either Dave or Alex, buried his face in his hands when Heidi utters this. It's time to vote. Jenna and Heidi vote for Rob and The Guys all vote off Heidi.
SPOILERS: This Sunday, the Finale! Three days, four players, two more Tribal Councils, and one sole survivor. Who will win? Stay tuned and find out!
