"Survivor Review" is a private fan site and is no way affiliated with CBS or Mark Burnett Productions.  Many of the pictures and graphics are taken from the official CBS "Survivor: Pearl islands" website, as well as other sites, such as "CBS Early Show".  This site's intent is not to infringe on any copyrighted or trademarked material, only to review and speculate on a TV series which has captured our imaginations.

It's Night 18, and the Drakes have returned from Tribal Council.  Mt. Rupert
erupts all over Jon.  "Who the hell voted for me?!?!"  Jon admits to his vote
and offers up a patented lame excuse.  He was just going along with Trish
for the "good of Drake".  The others aren't buying it.  Even Shawn disses
his homey.  Rupert feels like tearing Jon's head off and $#@&ing down his
neck.  But the Mighty Rupert calms himself and forgives Jon, more or less.
Rupert still has doubts and does not trust Johnny-Fair-Play.

Day 19, the longest day is "Survivor" history, now begins at Camp Morgan.
It's raining and windy.  The surf is rough.  No spear-fishing today.  All are
cold, hungry, and miserable.  RyanO tries to spear a fish which wandered
close to the beach, but it gets away.  Der Fuerher Andrew is mournful of the
lack of protein.  How he wishes that the god Neptune, aka Rupert, were still
around to provide them all with fish.  Tijuana announces that there is only
enough rice for two more meals.  Osten prays for The Merge.

Back at Drake Island, they get tree-mail.  Shawn and Jon are excited about
The Merge.  Rupert is not.  He dreads it.  He would prefer it never happens.
Rupert gets his wish.  The tree-mail harkens them to another Reward Chal-
lenge.  Sandra suggest that they make popcorn (actually fried coconut).
Shawn and Jon prepare the coconut and wind up having another argument.
These two will bicker over anything.  Things get ugly, but luckily, there is
no time now.

The two tribes gather with Jeff in front of some bamboo-jail.  Jeff then tells
them that their past is coming back to haunt them.  Out of the jungle come
the six booted tribe members, now known as The Outcasts.  Everyone is
shocked.  Jeff explains that this challenge will be a three-way race to escape
from jail.  Should the Outcasts beat one tribe, that tribe will have a Tribal
Council this evening and boot a member.  The Outcasts will then follow with
their own council to vote one player BACK INTO THE GAME!  Should the
Outcasts finish the challenge in 1st place, BOTH the Drakes and Morgans
will do back-to-back boots and two Outcasts shall return.  The returning
Outcast will be immune from the next Tribal Council.

The challenge is a multi-part one.  All but one member from each tribe will
be tied or chained inside a three-room bamboo jail.  These free players will
race across the beach to retrieve their tribal flag first.  Then dig their way
into the first chamber of the jail and untie one member.  Both will then dig
their way into the second chamber and untie another member and build a
long pole using some sticks.  With this pole, they then reach for a set of
keys in the third chamber, which opens it and unlocks the remaining tribe
members.  The pole is then used again to retrieve a key outside the jail which
unlocks the last chamber and frees them all.  The first tribe that crosses the
finish line with their flag wins.

Andrew, Burton, and Shawn are selected as the runners.  Burton is mad with
revenge and races at full speed.  Shawn passes him and is first to get his
flag and dig himself into the jail.  Burton is close behind.  Andrew is far be-
hind.  Shawn frees Christa and they begin digging their way into the second
chamber to free Rupert.  Burton frees Trish and they dig.  Andrew finally
manages to dig into the jail and frees RyanO.  Rupert quickly fashions a pole
while Burton, Trish and Lil take their time to build a strong one.  Der Frueher
and RyanO finally free Osten and they try to catch up.  The Drakes are still in
the lead and free Sandra and Jon, then begin reaching for the last key.  But
the Outcasts are still hot on their heels.  Drakes are having problems with
their pole.  The Outcasts manage to get their key but it falls off the pole and
the key lies outside. The Drakes get their key, but it is too late.  The Outcasts
drag theirs in and free themselves first.  Both the Drakes and the Morgans
must boot someone off tonight.  Jeff asks the Outcasts how it feels to win?
Burton answers that while the others think they have known low times, it is
nothing compared with the feeling of being voted off.

The Morgans return to camp and are mad and depressed.  Andrew vows that
whoever returns must be voted off as soon as possible.  Osten then asks
the others to vote him off.  He has had enough.  He is tired and his body is
failing him.  The others are stunned, sort of, but say little.  Tijuana, who had
talked Osten out of quitting long ago, will not argue this time.  Andrew and
RyanO both comment on how Osten will regret this decision for the rest of
his life.

The Drakes return home to have a quick meal before heading to Tribal Coun-
cil.  Rupert, Sandra, and Christa chat about who to vote off.  They decide to
allow Jon and Shawn each two minutes to make their case for staying.
Rupert thinks it will be hilarious to hear what they have to say.  Shawn be-
gins with acknowledging his past errors but adds that he is more trust-wor-
thy than Jon.  He also argues that he is stronger and will work hard to bring
them victory.  Jon says that he has always been loyal to the Drakes and that
he also does more work around the camp.

Tribal Council #1 is with the Drakes.  Sandra tells Jeff how shocked she was
and how she thinks Burton will be back.  Jeff tweaks their noses, for it was
to get rid of Burton that the Drakes threw the 'checkers-challenge' which
began their losing ways and destroyed the Drakes.  Shawn and Jon now
repeat their pleas for staying in The Game.  It's time to vote.  Shawn votes
for Jon, the rest vote off Shawn.  Game set and match, Shawn tells us all
at the confessional.

Tribal Council #2 gathers the Morgans.  Notice I haven't called them the
Morons today, as I think they have some potential now.  They, too, relate
how shocked they were from seeing the Outcasts.  But then the conversa-
tion switches over to who will be voted off.  Jeff learns that Osten has de-
cided to quit.  Jeff does not look pleased.  He rakes Osten over the coals.
You don't look that weak or emaciated?  Jeff asks the others what they think
about it.  Andrew cites how The Game is mental and that the mind controls
the body.  Tijuana confesses that it was Osten who wanted to quit back on
Episode Two.  Darrah and RyanO say that they would have to be dragged
away kicking and screaming.  Jeff makes one last try to reason with Osten,
but it is no use.  Osten is more worried about his alledged health than with
the stigma of being a quitter.  Jeff makes it official, asking each if they will
grant Osten his wish.  They do.  Jeff gives Osten one final dig, about how
hard it is to get on the show and that maybe Osten should never have
wasted their time in the first place.  Jeff extinguishes Osten's torch.  Osten
departs without a confessional sequence.  Jeff lays the quitter's torch down,
not giving it the usual place of honor.  He then assures the remaining that
whoever will be voted back in, will really want to stay and compete.

SPOILERS:  Both tribes speculate on who will return and how it will impact
the dynamics of The Game.  Meanwhile, the Outcasts hold their Tribal
Council and vote two players back in.  Who will they be?  Nicole? RyanS?
Lil?  Burton?  Michelle?  Or Trish?  Stay tuned for Part 2 next week.
