ALL-STAR WRAP-UP
by
Andy Zarowny

First off, congratulations to Romber, for winning "Survivor:  All-Stars",
being the Final Two, and for finding true love and getting engaged.  My
hats off to the both of you.  They said it best when Alicia asked them
for one-word answers during the Final Tribal Council as to how they
succeeded.  Rob was by far the most competitive player, Amber, the
luckiest.  Combined, they were the most strategic dou in Survivor
history.  Every vote they presided over were slam dunks.

Secondly, congratulations to the most popular Survivor contestant
ever to play, Rupert.  Being the audience's champion and being re-
warded with a million dollar prize was awesome.  The moment he stole
Morgan's shoes in Season 7, he stole America's heart.  He said in his
post-win appearance on the "CBS Early Show" on Friday that he got
about 85% of the 38 million votes cast.  THAT is impressive.  Sure, it's
a popularity contest, etc, but he was the overwhelming favorite.  Our
hero will go very far in life.  Watch for him hosting a series soon.

My own record this season of predictions was so-so.  I ended up being
12-6, 66.7% accuracy.  Not bad.  My biggest problem was mid-game
before The Merge.  From Episode 5 till 11, I did poorly.  After Lex left,
it was clear sailing and I was correct 100%, including the order of the
Final Four.

Here are my
Andys for various categories:

Most Strategic:  Rob M.  I'm sure Amber helped you make up your
mind on a few decisions, but this season was all yours.  You were far
better than during Marquesas.

Most Improved:  Jenna L.  You ask why not give this one to Amber
since she won?  My reasoning is simple.  Jenna ran a tight ship over
at Saboga.  Once she joined Chapera, she and Rupert did very well in
aligning themselves with Romber immediately.  At several points dur-
ing The Game, she made crucial contributions to advancing the team
forward.  It took a lot of nerve to betray Rupert at the end, too, though
she had more than made up for that, encouraging the public to vote for
Rupert.  It's rare when outsiders can enter a group and meld with it so
efficiently.  Plus, she looked REALLY HOT at the Reunion Show! Yum!

Why Are You Even Here?:  This one is a tie between Tina and Rudy.
I know a lot of people like Rudy.  I like Rudy.  But seriously, he had no
business playing this time around.  The same goes for Tina.  Let's be
honest, she road Colby's coattails last time.  I'm sorry, but she does
not impress me at all.  Plenty of other former players deserved their
spots this season.  Mike Skupin most of all.

Best Individual Moment:  Richard.  Yes, I'm giving Richard an

Andy
for his battle with the baby shark.  Anyone other than Hatch, and
Rupert, would've left The Game after that.  But The King just laughed
it off.

Smartest Player:  Shii Ann.  The Shii-Devil really impressed me this
season.  Especially from The Merge onwards.  Besides, in being the
deciding vote for Amber, Shii Ann won herself a new car.  Way to go!

Dumbest Player:  Lex and Rob C.  Again, we have a tie for this cate-
gory.  What's even funnier is that both were backstabbed by the Rob-
father.  They honestly thought they could trust him!  Puh-Leeeease!

Worst Strategy:  Lex.  This time for two dumb moves, the betrayal
of Jerri to spare Amber and for blindsiding Colby.  Mogo Mogo may
have had a real chance at hanging in there longer had they ditched
Shii Ann or Jerri at that moment instead of Colby.  Trusting Rob M and
not booting Amber was just plain stupid.  Bad moves, Lex!

Hardest Worker:  Rupert!  Yep, no doubt about that.  He was the
ultimate Provider.  Fish, firewood, etc.  Biggest heart, too.  What a guy!

I could go on, but I think that sums it up.  All in all it was a good sea-
son.  The series is on track for at least two more runs.  So I will be here
again for Season 9, "Survivor: Vanuatu, The Fire Islands".  Till then, I
will be doing some writing on politics and such at
Serf's Up!, and will
soon be involved in political blog which is certain to rock the world.  I
will post a link to that one at both of my sites when ready.

Special Thanks to the Warner and Melissa at
SirLinksAlot for their
support and help.  And of course, thanks to all of you for stopping by
and reading my reviews and such.  Have fun and see you, out there...
