"Survivor Review" is a private fan site and is no way affiliated with CBS or Mark Burnett Productions.  Many of the pictures and graphics are taken from the official CBS "Survivor: Pearl Islands" website, as well as other sites, such as "CBS Early Show".  This site's intent is not to infringe on any copyrighted or trademarked material, only to review and speculate on a TV series which has captured our imaginations.

Day 7 and the gang at Mogo Mogo are counting their insect bites.  Everyone
is bit all over.  Bites on top of bites.  Even Lex's tatoos are victims.  Jenna M
starts talking about checking out of The Game.  She is miserable.  Not only
from the rigors of "Survivor", but now she is longing for her family.  Kathy,
not knowing the situation with Jenna M's mom being in a nursing home for
cancer patients, thinks her depression is due more to Jenna M not drinking
enough water or eating.  Over at Saboga, the four move past Rudy's depar-
ture and build a table.  Rupert thinks it's funny how much nervous energy
they all have.  He goes swimming and catches a fish.  Ethan takes a crack
but again fails.  Rupert tries to console Ethan.

Back at Mogo Mogo, Richard goes fishing.  He wants to bag a big ray.  But
instead, he happens across a small shark, about 18 inches or so in length,
resting under a shelf of rock.  He decides to try to catch it, grabbing it by
the tail.  After some preparation, he attempts to spear it's belly, but misses.
Richard loses his grip and the shark swims free and turns to attack.  The
sharks bites down hard on Richard's right arm just below the elbow.  He
can't shake it loose.  Back-swimming for nearly a half an hour, Richards
moves towards the shore, with shark in tow.  He reaches an outcropping of
rocks and beats the shark against them.  It finally releases Hatch's arm.
Returning to camp, all are thoroughly impressed by Richard's adventure.
Shii Ann comments to Jenna M on the naked Ubermann, that "… he may not
be much down there (referring to his genitalia) but he is certainly impressive
upstairs."  That he is, Shii Ann, that he is.

Saboga checks out tree-mail and finds a crate full of tools from Home Depot
®.  The Reward Challenge for this episode is that each tribe will have 24
hours to make home improvements on their shelter.  An expert will then in-
spect each and determine the winners.  1st Place will get an air-drop of
bedding and other goodies, plus the 2nd clue in their tree-mail to the crate
of rice.  2nd Place winners will only get the clue.  Since Saboga has only 4
players, each of the other tribes must sit out two members.  Richard and
Kathy sit out for M-M.  Sue and Amber for Chapera.  Tom is surprised by
this, as Sue seemed pretty fired up about directing their efforts, but she
decided it's better for her to keep her mouth shut.

At Chapera, Rob M, being a construction contractor, directs the team and
hands out assignments.  Tom helps him with the actual building, while RobC
and Alicia are to handle décor and landscaping.  Rob C is frustrated, once
again the Big-Boys won't let him play with them.  He winds up getting lost
and returns to the camp empty-handed.  Alicia reads him the riot-act.  Amber
is getting hot watching Rob M sweat.  Over at Mogo Mogo, Lex and Colby
work on a split-level tree house.  Jenna M and Shii Ann try to make some
suggestions but are quickly discounted by The Men.  Richard chuckles.
At Saboga, Rupert wants to build a log cabin, presumably he intends to run
for president after "Survivor".  Jerri tries to argue against Rupert's plan of
digging down to add head-room instead of building something raised above
the ground.  But nobody else backs her up.  Ethan is pleased with the bic-
kering, as it deflects attention from himself.  They work all through the night
but run into a problem.  The site Rupert chose has a huge tree trunk buried
in it.  There is no way they can chop it out.  All are discouraged, Rupert is
frustrated.

Day 8 and Jeff arrives at Mogo Mogo with Rafa, the expert.  Rafa must be an
expert, since he's wearing a tool belt.  Rafa begins shaking every joint and
beam.  Colby and Lex watch in horror as Rafa stomps on the floor and then
pokes their roof.  They then breath easier when Rafa checks how level the
floor is and seems somewhat impressed.  On to Chapera.  Here, Rob M and
Rafa have a mind-meld of talkless tool-use.  Rob M gives Rafa the full tour
and Rafa finds everything extremely sturdy.  They then give Rafa a ride on
the swing they built, which brought a genuine smile from the expert.  As
Jeff and Rafa leave, Rob M is very confident that they will win.  Finally, it's
Saboga's turn.  Rafa seems very concerned immediately with the concept.
Rupert tries to explain the features of their dwelling, but Rafa finds plenty
wrong with it.  While still on Saboga Beach, Jeff asks Rafa for his decision.
Jeff radios an airplane which then buzzes the islands.  No joy for Saboga as
the plane mearly passes them by.  The plane then approaches the island
which is home to both Mogo Mogo and Chapera.  Mogo Mogo tribe aren't
sure where the plane is headed.  They see a crate tossed out and parachute
down.  Alas, the prize goes to Chapera.  The Chapera tribe jumps for joy,
Tom even does his Happy-Dance.  The crate is full of blankets, pillows, a
tarp, and bottles of wine.  The celebration begins as they all get drunk, ex-
cept for Sue, who doesn't drink alcohol.  Tom says it's the best thing he's
heard out of Sue's mouth in 8 days.  Rob M and a tipsy Amber flirt with each
other even more in front of everyone.  Hmmmmmmmmm!  At M-M, Richard
checks tree-mail and finds the 2nd clue and a map.  He thinks winning this
is far more important.

Night 8 at Mogo Mogo brings a nasty storm.  Hard rain, wind, and lots of
lightning plague our contestants.  The tree house does not offer enough
shelter.  By morning of Day 9, they are all soaking wet and miserable.  This
is when Jenna M decides that she has had enough and wants to walk.  She
explains to her tribemates about her mother's condition and how she has
a feeling that she needs to go immediately to her side.  The others are sym-
pathetic, but are worried about losing a teammate at this point.  Kathy tries
to talk her into staying, but with no effect.  Richard and Shii Ann seem to be
most supportive of Jenna M's decision.

All three tribes gather for the Immunity Challenge.  Jeff collects the idols
from their last winners and then questions everyone on how they are doing.
Saboga and Chapera mention the bug bites and such, but are otherwise ok.
Richard tells Jeff that there are some issues at Mogo Mogo.  Jenna M tells
them all about her decision to leave.  Jeff wants more of an explanation.  He
seems more concerned that Jenna M is somehow getting messages from
home.  But Jenna M says that it's just a "vibe" that she has which tells her
she must return home at once.  Jeff asks the others how they feel about this
and most are supportive, though some question whether she should have
been there in the first place.  Jeff asks Jenna M if she can wait till tonight's
Tribal Council but she says no.  He calls in a boat to remove her from the
island.  Jeff then tells the rest that there will be no Immunity Challenge.
Jenna M departs, hugging each player as she leaves.  The final scene is of
her in the boat, racing away back to civilization.  Before any credits roll, we
are informed that Jenna Morasca did make it home and within 8 days, her
mother did in fact die from her long struggle with cancer.

SPOILERS:  Rob M and Amber grow closer.  A vicious storm batters Saboga
Tribe (and their crummy log cabin).  A challenge competition results in some
injuries as blind-folded players collide with each other.
