Dawn breaks on Day 39.  Chris and Twila spend there last day together on the
island.  They are both happy, at least at first.  Twila begins to realize that she got
many on The Jury pissed off at her.  Chris is worried, too.  He decides he must
still play The Game.  Chris talks with Twila, getting her psyched up to be con-
frontational with The Jury.  Twila thinks she deserves to win.  They pack and hug
as they depart for the last Tribal Council.  Chris is worried that the women's al-
liance may still play a role.

At Tribal Council, Jeff gives his standard speech about how the power has now
shifted out of the remaining player's hands and unto The Jury.  Each makes their
openning remarks.  Chris goes first, saying how he was loyal and overcame all
odds.  Twila says her only goal from Day One was to win.  She played hard and
deserves the million bucks.  Then The Jury Speaks...

Eliza is first.  She congratulates and offends Twila for starters.  She calls Twila
a deceptive, lying bitch!  Then she zeroes in on Chris and also calls him the
same.  Eliza wants an apology, beginning with Twila.  If anything, Twila just digs
herself a deeper hole, antagonizing Eliza further, calling her a spoiled rotten
child.  Chris is more gracious and gives a real apology, saying that he is sorry
he lied to her.

Julie is next.  She is in tears.  She gives Twila a pass and attacks Chris instead.
Chris hurt her feelings, she really did see him as a brother.  Julie wants to
know why he lied to her?  Chris makes excuses.  Claims he never intended to
betray her, that he didn't make his final decision till voting time.  At the moment
he vowed to vote for Twila, he was being honest with her.  But in the end, he had
to play The Game the best way he knew how to advance himself.  He tells her
her is truly sorry.  Julie seems somewhat satisfied.

Leann begins by trashing Twila for betraying her and the whole women's alliance
with her sworn lie.  Twila defends herself, saying that she no longer trusted her
or Ami after they choose Julie over Scout for their Final Four plans.  When it's
Chris' turn to face Leann, he keeps repeating his manta, "I played The Game'.

Ami then trashes Twila more concerning the sworn lie she gave her for a million
dollars.  Ami then wants to know why Chris lied so much?  Chris jibes at Ami,
saying that she lost because she got soft.  He exploited a weakness and came
in through the backdoor.  Twila tells Ami she doesn't know why she is the low-
life bitch everyone is making her out to be.  She tells Ami the reason she is in
the Final Two instead of her is because she is harder and colder than Ami.

Chad is kind to both, asking them each what has the experience done to change
them?  Twila answers that she needs to ease up and be more cheerful.  Chris
said he feels bad for focusing so much on the money and will work to change
that.

Sarge walks forward and tells both, "Touche."  He then attacks Twila for having
no values.  He never wants to speak to her again.  But he claims that he will still
vote for her.  Sarge then asks Chris if even though he's voting for Twila, if they'll
still be friends and go to NASCAR races together?  Chris says yes, they will.

Scout has the last word.  She admits to having an alliance with Twila.  Thanks
them both for the 38-Day ride.  Before she goes, she calls Chris a Bullshitter!

The two finalists then get their last say.  Twila tells them that the folks back
home know she is a woman of her word.  She did not mean to hurt anyone's
feelings.  Twila says that she was most hurt herself by Sarge's remarks.  The
Jury seems sympathetic, even Ami cries!  Chris apologizes again.  Tells The
Jury however they decide to vote is fine with him.

It's time to vote!  Sarge votes for Chris, as does Chad .  We see both Scout and
Ami vote for Twila.  The rest are a mystery.  Jeff collects the urn, grabs a
machette and a torch.  He begins to hack his way through the jungle.  The next
day, he reaches a clearing with an awaiting airplane.  Off he soars as we fade
and disolve to a map of his journey home.  Over the deserts of California, Jeff
announces that this is where he gets off.  He suits up in a sky-diving outfit and
leaps out the door.  He para-glides to a convenient motorcycle, and heads down
the road to.... HOLLYWOOD!

Arriving at CBS Studios, he reads the votes before the gang and a live audience.
Twila and Chris are tied at two votes each.  The drama builds as Chris gets an-
other.  Jeff reads the next ballot.  The winner of Survivor: Vanuatu is Chris!  The
final vote was 5-2.

Thus we are treated to the third hour.  Chris said that he took advantage of the
backdoor that was openned.  He played every card he had.  Julie said she voted
for Chris, she still felt some loyalty to him.  Eliza said her vote for Chris was
more a vote against Twila.  Leann voted for Chris because she had promised
Twila she would never write her name down.  Essentially, all the former enemies
had made peace, except for Eliza and Twila.  Everyone forgives her, even her
son.

NEXT SEASON - SURVIVOR: PALAU.  20 contestants this time!  And we are pro-
mised many new changes from the very beginning!
