SANGMED ERA

After the Gulf War in 1991, I moved to Jeddah to work at King Khaled National Guard Hospital, and invevitably joined SANGMED DIVE CLUB, and the diving bug hit me fast.

I did not do much still photography, preferring video at that time.

A special mention to the following who dived with me during that period (SANGMED DIVE CLUB, 1991-1992):

Richard Ooi, Ken Stroud (RIP), (Wrinkly) Val Tirrell, Lauren, Michael & Elaine, Steve Walker (who taught me about wreck diving), Neil (from ECG), Lawrence (Loz), Hugh Moyse, Danny and Rebecca, Mark Tomlinson

During that time my friend Terry moved from Riyadh to KKNGH in Jeddah and we arranged for the same nights on-call (Terry for Chemistry and me for Blood Bank) in order to have the next day off together so we could dive mid-week on quiet beaches.

My friends Kees and Simon would also frequently visit from Riyadh for weekends and Krazy Kevin also moved to Jeddah.
