The Coming Of May

Forever arriving, then bursting upon you is May,
spring's seductress, entrancing and young,
who holds back her pleasures
'til April can coax her to dance
in the light of the sun.
The tease of her breezes and blush on her hillsides
make promises too new to keep of gentle caresses
and soft summer dresses and nights
when you know you won't sleep.
Wild tempest and temptress,
she scorns and seduces and taunts with the blue of her skies,
while her sultry advances and come-hither glances
flash lightening from storm-clouded eyes.
Bewildered, you balk at the lure of her lushness,
but resistance no longer feels sane
when she bathes you in richness and wet rainy kisses
while you wait for the heartbreak again.
