Her Dawn

Her tears hang ten upon pale cheeks

as sand-kissed toes caress her beach,
his empty words fly in sea's breeze
she turns to face her dawn...

Those whispered lies she once believed,

her hungry heart surely decieved;
one wounded soul in full retreat
she vows she will go on...

Soft eyes surveying desperately,

afraid to share her deepest need,
her heart empty of all she bleeds
the walls she built are strong...

Gently probing, now carefully,

caressing eyes that spoke to me,
intent to heal what hurt deeply
I heard her spirit song...

Now, here we lie in lover's dream

what once was captive, now so free;
I'm floating as she lies by me
she turns to face her dawn...
