The Rose

As I walk in my garden

I chanced upon a rose
not just an ordinary rose
but one so beautiful that
it stood out amongst the others

with a stem so thin

and a bud open to full bloom
the petals seemed to engulf me
with their beauty
as they gave to me
the greatest pleasure

I leaned over to smell the rose

it kissed me with its tenderness
I stood there and wanted the rose
for myself but yet
I knew it would die if I picked it

as there I stood it embraced me

then as the day went past
the rose died...
and so did ...I
