An Ångel Watching

He's laying there so helpless,
Blips and beeps his lullaby.
Tiny, fragile chest is heaving,
Fighting for every breath, I cry.

A little eye opens at Daddys' voice,

His fingers twitching, he's restless.
The little toes are tickelish,
As Daddy gently caresses.

I watch and smile, can see the love,

Between the father and the son.
I will hover and watch from over head,
To be sure my job is done.

I do my part to bring souls together,

The new parents take over then.
They now are the caretakers of his soul,
Until the time I call again.
