Shall A Birdie Tell Thee

I see that these charmed birds
Do flutter about thee now
Alighting on thy every word
Most flattering to thou

They are but mesmerised by thee

Thy wit and words, thy way
And every word and gesture
That thee hath said today

I understand their wanting thee

For I am enamored too
But I will not be bold enough
To tell my love so true

Instead I flutter here and there

And hope thee notice me
For I am a shy and lonely bird
That thee shall never see
