Poems By Dennis Straight

Coming After Me

As I sit on mountain high,
I see in the valley
My true love coming after me.
Full of grace and natural beauty
Walking up the valley
My true love coming after me
Everything that is good and sweet
Walking up the valley
My true love coming after me
As I sit on mountain high
I think of my true love
Coming after me
Walking up the valley my true
Love coming after me

Longings

I long only to relax with you
beside me always.
Though love eternal never dies.
I know we someday must.
Love goes on forever,
though life does not.
It is plain to see, forget me not.
For in you is me, in me is you.
Which is love true blue.
From me to you.

That love in all its glory is you.
In skies of blue I see your face/
Shining and smileing down on me.
Your eyes not unlike diamonds
shining upon black velvet.
Like the stars in the blackness
which is called night.

I call out your name and
you are there beside me.
Soothing me and comforting
me when I hurt.
Bringing me up whenever
I feel down.

I call out your name
and you do not hear.
For now my love has gone away.
I call and call, yet you do not come.

I long once again for a love so true.
I ask all around, Where has my love gone?
For in all this world there
is none like you my love.

What Is

What is life without Love?
Death
What is love without life?
Death
Without love and life, What is there left?
Death
Without the happiness that love brings, What
is there left?
Death
Where in lies the truth to all these
questions, you ask?
Death
For in Death is truth. In love is only Falsehood.
