My Love

It's early when I wake and turn,
Seeing your face in peaceful sleep.
Reaching out to smooth your hair,
Our night of love I wish to keep.

You stir and open your eyes so clear,

You stare straight into mine.
Then reaching out to frame my face,
Knowing that forever I will be thine.

You pull me close, I close my eyes,

A smile upon my lips so pink.
Holding my head against your chest,
We lay with time to think.

I know deep down within my soul,

And let out a slow sweet sigh.
I'll love you forever and ever my dear,
So very long after the day I die.
