Painting Pictures

Dark then light walking down

A small trail through the woods
There is so much here to see
Open your heart then you could

First the trees some old some new

Towering silently overhead
To the green moss covered ground
As soft as any bed

Sun is filtering down through leaves

To greet the forest floor
Tiny tender foliage
All beg for even more

A sprig of wildflower thrown about

To add a gift of pure delight
Just drink in all the beauty here
As you walk through dark and light

Beneath a sun bright as memory

Then to the cool deep shadows
Walk along and smell the smells
Of times decaying battle

Don't get lost in her great beauty

You'll want to stay forever
Instead paint pictures with your words
To share forever and ever
