The Sunflower

What's this I see
What a strange sight
I've never seen one of these
My whole life

I've seen blue flowers
And pink with green leaves
But never have I looked
Upon one such as these

It moves and it sways
With a mind all its own
Standing so bravely
Out here all alone

I think I'll just smile
And say howdy do
I wonder, will it speak
To say hello too

Oh, here comes someone
To take it away
It moved to another part
Of the garden today

I'll just smile
And wave good bye
Standing here now
With a sorrowful sigh

Couldn't this tiny flower
Stay for awhile
With that little red ballcap
He makes me smile
