Time Spent

When we are born we are given
A pocket full of time
And when we're young we spend and spend
Always thinking, I'll not run out of mine

As we grow we realize

We should spend our time more wisely
But still we hold our own cache of time
To spend foolishly or to be miserly

Some people run out of time

Before they have a chance to spend a bit
While others spend and spend
No thought of overdraft protecting it

Some of us are given more time

Some are given less
Your happiness all depends
On how you spend the rest
