The day you came into my life your brought sunshine and warmth.
You gave me hope and sweet promises.
You made this ordinary man feel like a king.
You built me up and I stood tall.
The day you left the rains came again...
All manner of darkness soon fell.
You took your hope and walked away.
Your promises lay broken and tattered crushed under foot.
With your cold touch you left me shattered.
But the ordinary man you built still stands like a king.
Although you've gone I still stand tall.
Somethings just can't be broken.
Somethings just can't be taken.
So though you've gone, I will go on.
I'll hold your memory and thank god for bringing you to me.
Indeed whatever will be, will be...
This poem was written as I started to heal from the dissapointment and hurt of Jason's leaving. I felt like I had lost so much before I even had a chance to hold on to it. This poem reflects that fact that I gained more that I'd thought.
