RECONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY!

This sign has greated many into the community of Comins for years. Now the meaning runs deeper as the town begins to recover and reconstruct after the devasting tornado of July 3rd, 1999

Where beautiful spreading hardwood trees stood now stands wide open spaces...Where shops and businesses stood..nothing but foundations....and hope!

Off in the distance you can hear the sound of hammers and saws as phase one of reconstruction is well under way at the once devastated Mennonite Church.

Thanks to the coordinating efforts of the Mennonite Disaster Service volunteers from various faiths lend a hand to raise the new community church! Mennonites, Amish, Catholics, Baptists, Lutherns, among others join in an unselfish act of common good!
