SINGIN' BILL WINTER


Singin' Bill Winter was born at home, April 9, 1930. He was one of sixteen children in the family who lived in West Branch, Michigan. He married Rita Groulx, June 24, 1950, and they made their home in Montrose. They have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys.

Early in his career, he held a spot on radio WGRO in Bay City. He has performed on "We Bring You The World" (WBYW FM) and on the "Back Porch Pickers Association" radio show on WKKM FM, Harrison, Michigan.

Singin' Bill still travels around the country doing a variety of shows and has also opened for shows in Nashville.

Singin' Bill was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame on September 9, 1995 in Saginaw Michigan at ceremonies held at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds.
