Pearle C. Lewis was born April 10, 1899 in Loda, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander
and Gertrude Myers. She moved to Michigan to the Greenville area and was one of the early promoters
of country music in Michigan. She actively organized and booked country music shows wherever and whenever
she could. Her son Earl Peterson, was a well known entertainer in her shows.
In 1960, Pearle Lewis and Earl started WPLB radio in Greenville and in 1962 they went on the air
with an all country FM station.
Earl passed away in 1971, the same year he was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. Pearle C. Lewis passed away
on February 20, 1979. She was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame on July 22, 1976.
