Abuse of any type is unnerving, but what is really appalling is how much of it there is out there. When you are in abuse you don’t think much about how many others there are out there, you are too busy trying to survive the day. When you come out, and get some time under your belt you begin to see how predominant the problem is. And it is just sickening to my guts. It can be very overwhelming and many who are not in this situation try to close their eyes and ears to those around them. Sometimes that is just their survival technique. We don’t like to be bothered with things that we don’t understand or feel we can’t help with. Sometimes we have strange ideas about our ability to help. So we hide out, and just ignore cries for help. Or we talk ourselves into believing there is nothing we can do, or that the victim must like that or chose that for their lives. Much easier then having to stomach the truth, or even try to understand it. You can recall the old adage, “hear no evil, and see no evil”.

Many people were witness to my abuse, but not many ever did a thing to help. They didn’t want to interfere. They had troubles of their own.

This page is filled with many stories of abuse. I was abused by a spouse but there are stories here of that and sexual child abuse as well. It can break your heart to think how some have suffered, many in innocence, left to forever carry around this dark evil. It can shock you to see how evil the mind of a human being can be. But make no mistake; the human heart is most capable of any kind of atrocity. A little history should be able to tell you that.

The point here is to show you that there is hope to get out, and there is life after abuse. It can be a good life when all is said and done. We have been gifted with an amazing ability to heal and forgive and move on. And hopefully we will make sure that this doesn’t continue to happen to anyone who crosses our path.

When you are finished, if you need some encouragement, drop me a line at my email. If you have a story you would like to link email me and I will add it! If you would like to get in touch with anyone you have read about, drop him or her a line. And as you walk down the street, pay attention to what you see, or maybe what you don’t. Open your eyes and you shall see.

Amen!
