Sutton decided to make the roster maximum 17 players, not 20 like Sandbox had. This will make it easier to pick up players when injuries and bye-weeks happen.
RULESSo, the first new rule is that I am implemating a limit on how many QB's can be on a team at any given time. There can be no more than three (3) STARTING QB's on a team at any given time. UNFORTUNATELY, I CAN'T BABYSIT EVERY TEAM ROSTER CONSTANTLY. THEY DON'T PAY ME ENOUGH. SO, I IMPLORE YOU ALL TO HELP OUT POLICING THE LEAGUE FOR VIOLATIONS. 2. Another step to reduce problems that occur for teams not at a computer on game day: Anyone wanting to pick up a free agent must go through me. So, I will lock all teams from picking up or dropping players. Including myself. When a team wants to pick up a free agent, they must email me. It's probably smart not to post it in the message area. Email me in private. The team then has to wait until Tuesday at 1pm before that player is added to their roster. If nobody else puts a claim, that player is yours after Tuesday at 1pm. However, if somebody else puts in a claim before Tuesday, it goes to the team with the worst record. (at work our commish actually holds a blind auction, but I don't want to get into that). Note that the team worst record still has to wait Tuesday since another team could have an even worse record. After Tuesday, at 1pm, all free-agents are "free game" until kick off of the first game. Once the first game kicks off, the league is once again on lock-down until Tuesday at 1pm. REGARDLESS IF I USE THE ACTUAL "LOCK" FEATURE ON THE WEBSITE, DON'T PICK UP A PLAYER DURING LOCK-DOWN!!!. DON'T BE A TURD!!! Don't think this will give me an advantage. It's much better than having a league full of scavengers. 1. The Money: The ante will be $50. That makes it a $700 purse. Not bad. Well, the whole $700 won't go to the top 3. There is a step to reduce the problem of teams "giving up" when the season nears the end and the owner knows he can't place in the top 3. Each team that wins a game will be awarded $3.00. Since there are 14 teams in the league, and 7 teams will win each week, that means $21 will be taken out of the purse each week. 17 weeks X $21 = $357 to be taken out total leaving $343 left over to split with the top 3. 1st place gets $200. 2nd place gets $90 and third gets $40. Remember, that's on top of the money you've accumulated from your wins. So, if the first place team has a 14-2 record, they would collect $42 on top of the $200 they won for taking first. After the first season, when some teams didn't change their line-ups in the last weeks, some of us got screwed from that lack of effort since we needed the team with the poor record to win. Now, even teams with poor records still have something to keep their interest.
