Background Sources For Jude Lessons

The books and tapes from the following Bible teachers and pastors have been an invaluable resource for my studies in the book of Jude. These men have contributed greatly to my Biblical studies and I want to give them due recognition.

R.B. Thieme. Jr., pastor of Berachah Church in Houston, Texas for over 50 years. Pastor R.B. Thieme, Jr., has been a great source of inspiration and encouragement to me over the past 30 years of my ministry.

Kenneth S. Wuest : (1893 - 1962). Former Greek teacher at Moody Bible Institute. His work, Word Studies in the Greek New Testament, along with many other of his writings have been a great help to me throughout my years of Bible study.

A.T. Robertson: (1863 - 1934). Former professor of New Testament Interpretation in the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary of Louisville, Kentucky. His extensive work "A Grammar of the Greek New Testament, in the Light of Historical Research" has been an invaluable tool in my studies. I have also used his New Testament Commentary, Word Pictures in the New Testament.

H.A. Ironside: (1876 - 1951). Pastored the Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, Illinois for 18 years (1930-1948). Was an excellent writer and minister of the Word of God. Spent his last years in Bible Conferences and writing. His book containing the Epistles of John and Jude were a great help to me in my study of Jude.

Marvin R. Vincent: (1834 - 1922). Professor of sacred literature in Union Theological Seminary, New York. His commentary, Word Studies of the New Testament have been very helpful in my studies.

David D. Allen, was pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park, Michigan for over 40 years. I had the privilege of sitting under his teaching for over five years. I taught a young adult Sunday School class at Calvary during those years, and attended his 11:00 AM Sunday service, which always consisted of an exegetical Bible lesson. His verse by verse exegetical teaching paved the way for my acceptance of the teachings of R.B. Thieme,Jr. In fact, in the spring of 1973, on my trip to Israel with Dr Allen I discovered that he was a Thieme taper himself.

Donald Grey Barnhouse: (1895 - 1960). An excellent Bible teacher from the past generation. His book "The Invisible War" was an excellent resource for my angelic studies in the book of Jude.

William Goodwin, the former pastor of the Juniatia Baptist Church in Vassar, Michigan. The pastor who led me to the Lord in April of 1962, and who encouraged me in Bible study very early in my Christian life. He was my first Bible teacher, and he set my path on indepth Bible study from the day I was saved. His various notes have been very helpful over the course of my spiritual growth over the years.
