Yamaball Rules

KILL OR BE KILLED

But seriously, the following shall be considered as ‘YAMABALL HOUSE RULES’. Matches consist of a 'best of three' series. Games will end and the winner decided when one of the players scores 15 points with a minimum point margin of two (different from USRA 1.5). Play will continue past 15 until said margin is achieved.

One match per week will be scheduled for each player. It will be the responsibility of the match players to reserve the court on the assigned day. Alternate match days can be schedule if both match players agree on the day and time. If such an agreement can not be reached the match must be played on the day assigned. If a match is not played, the player that was not avaiable for the match will be considered the forfeiter.

The player winning the lag has the option to either serve or receive at the start of the first game. The second game will begin in reverse order of the first. In the event of a third game first serve shall be determined by lag (different from USRA 3.1).

Body Techniques and Fitness Center courts shall be home court. All games shall be played at home unless agreed to by both match participants. Results of the alternate location match shall be binding.

The rules contained in the official Yamaball website ‘Rules’ page shall be considered 'House Rules' and shall supersede all others. The balance of rules are found in the United States Racquetball Association 1999-2000 AARA Official Rule Book. Copies may be found on file with the Yamaball Board Of Governors and HERE. It is IMPORTANT that all players review and be familiar with all the rules found in the AARA rule book prior to start of preseason play.

All players are especially encouraged to review USRA 3.0 Serves, 3.14 Dead Ball Hinders and 3.15 Avoidable Hinders.

The overall regular season winner will be decided by Match Points. Match Points are different and should not be confused with game scores. One Match Point will be awarded to the winner of each scheduled match played. If a player forfeits or is unable to complete a match, that player will lose one half Match Point while his scheduled opponent will be awarded one Match Point. There will be no other means of gaining match points. The player with the most match points at the end of the season will be considered the Yamasaki Racquetball Champion for that season. In the event of a tie, the Champion will be decided in a best of nine game series played in matches consisting of three games. The title of "Yamaball Master Most High" will then be ceremoniously conveyed along with the official Yamaball tiara and cape to the Champion.
