Who are the band members, and what do they play?
Nikkie Margosian: Bassist, Vocalist Fred Thomas: Drummer, Vocalist Micheal Troutman: Guitarist, Vocalist
Your band has risen from the ashes in many ways. How did this group form?
Nikkie and Fred played together in bands from 1994-1997. When finding drummers who were'nt complete dills became a problem, Fred switched from guitar and started learning drums. Fred's new roomate Micheal offered to play guitar until they could find someone to play permanently, and he became that permanent person.
How do you guys go about writing songs?
All members bring in or create ideas at practice, then those ideas are "jammed" on if you will, until a cohesive and adequate song comes about. Fred writes most lyrics later on, fitting in themes of beauty and fatigue where they should go in the finished songs.
What is your favorite venue?
Pirate House in ann arbor has been home to some of our best and worse shows. It is definately a venue in direct linkage to the people who benefit from this band the most, those being our friends and other ann arbor/ypsi youth. Fort Thunder in Rhode Island was the world's most amazing fire hazard.
What is your least favorite place to play? Cross St. Station seems oft listed as such
All show spaces are a forum for our breed of communication, and in that they are all good. it takes a lot to run a show, so even the shittiest of venues has it's merits. cross street station is set up weird and in the old days the bouncers were sexist, typical fucks, but we've still had great shows there, so what can be said.
What are your future plans?
A tour in july with Aloha. Split 7"s with aloha and bloodpact, a 10" out real soon on chicago label all please sound, a full-length in the fall on makoto, a song on the next troubleman compilation, playing as much as possible while we can, talking to people.
Self-aggrandizing statement here:
this band is a statement and a document, an idea of how the future should be locked in capsules of the past.
