Episode Summary:
Caitlin is attending summer school. She begins to skip class because
she is spending a lot of time with Will. Jim catches Caitlin skipping class
and he tells her not to see Will again until she finishes summer school and
gets her math credit. Caitlin, however, decides that Jim can't tell her who
to hang out with. Will takes Caitlin out to a barley field where they damage
an area of the crop by creating a crop circle design. The farmer sees them
but they escape without being identified. Caitlin later learns that it was
Eric's farm. Griffen and Eric discover that it was Caitlin and Will who
did the damage. Eric agrees not to tell the sheriff (Jim) as long as they
show up at the farm to work off the damage. Will refuses to do it and instead
pays off Eric by giving him a check for $1,000. Caitlin, however, decides
to stay and help clean up the damage. This makes Will angry and he walks
away from Caitlin wanting nothing to do with her.
Episode Highlights:
1. Will and Caitlin are talking on the phone after Will sees a news report
about the damage their crop circle caused. Will happily says, "We changed
the world! The coolest part is, the field we picked: it's Eric's!" Caitlin,
however, is shocked to learn this. Her tone of voice begins to change as
the realization of what she did begins to settle in. Will tells Caitlin that
if they get caught they could be charged with public mischief and be fined
$1,000. Caitlin is suddenly speechless. Will, however, shows no remorse
or concern about what they did.
2. Caitlin slowly begins to learn that Will is not who she thought he
was. She finds out that he once burned down a stable. Will tells Caitlin
that his father died after falling off a horse at a stable. Will blamed
the stable owner and he burned down the stable. Caitlin is shocked. She
tells Will, "I used to steal stuff to get attention. You know, to get back
at my foster parents. But I never had anyone who loved me, Will. You do.
Your mother." Will angrily says, "My mother doesn't love me!" Caitlin
says, "Well, maybe that's because you won't let her."
3. Caitlin tells Will that she is going to stay and help Eric. She says,
"I hurt Eric and his family. I have to make this right." Will says, "Caitlin,
he's just trying to humiliate you." Caitlin responds, "No he's not." She
then turns to Eric and asks, "What do I have to do?" Will is angry with Caitlin
and walks away from her saying, "You're not who I thought you were." This
is something that is obviously very painful to Caitlin, but she realizes that
she can't go where Will is because he is too angry and messed up right now.
She's in a good place right now and she doesn't want to loose that.
