Episode Summary:
Caitlin begins to attend karate classes. The sensei is at first hesitant
about allowing Caitlin in the class because of Caitlin's overly aggressive
attitude. However, she decides to give Caitlin a chance. Taylor is also
in the class. The hatred between Taylor and Caitlin emerges full-force while
the two of them are sparring. They begin to fight out of anger. The sensei
kicks both of them out of the class and tells them not to return until they
change their attitudes and apologize. They are both too stubborn to apologize
at first, but they eventually change their minds. The sensei is nowhere to
be found when Caitlin and Taylor return. The two of them begin to exchange
insults while they wait for the sensei. However, they soon begin to help
each other with their kicks. Caitlin finally says, "You know, I don't think
we're about to become best friends or anything. But maybe when we fight in
class we don't have to really fight in class." Taylor says, "That's cool."
They bow to each other. The sensei is secretly watching and is satisfied
enough with what she sees to allow them back into the class.
Episode Highlights:
1. Taylor defeats Caitlin while they are sparring. Taylor arrogantly
declares, "I told you not to come into my territory!" Caitlin then takes
Taylor down. Caitlin declares after Taylor hits the mat, "Now you're in
my territory!" Taylor says, "Once a street kid, always a street kid. Why
don't you go back to the hole you came from?" They begin to fight. The
sensei breaks up the fight and shouts, "You obviously have no respect for
each other or for me! Please leave! Now!" When the sensei says that she
will only allow them back in class if they apologize, Caitlin declares, "That's
not fair! She doesn't deserve to be in this class! Taylor is just some
shallow chick who's looking for an aerobic workout!" The sensei responds,
"And who's being shallow now?"
2. Caitlin tells Dori, "I finally found something that I like and I'm
good at it! And then Taylor comes along and ruins it for me!" Dori tells
her, "If you let your stubbornness and your strong will overrule your mind,
you're always going to be frustrated."
3. At the end of the episode, Caitlin and Taylor accidentally bump into
each other at the diner. They are angry at first. However, they both rethink
their attitudes. They give each other a slight bow of respect before walking
away from each other.
