Although Coca-Cola originated in the United States, it is now recognizable in nearly 200 countries around the world. Coca-Cola first went global in 1906 when it opened it’s first international bottling plants in Canada, Cuba, and Panama. Many other countries soon followed. Today, nearly 70 percent of the income generated by Coca-Cola comes from outside of the United States. Much of this global success is a direct result of Coca-Cola’s ability to adapt to different cultures worldwide; including taste preferences and product choices.
