Year Introduced 1990 Interesting Facts Coca-Cola products are produced and sold by The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Lebanon (CCBCL). CCBCL is based in the Shoueifat industrial zone south of Beirut. The company and CCBCL directly employ 460 people in Lebanon. Emphasizing local sourcing of production and marketing supplies, the company and bottling partners are major purchasers of sugar, flavors, bottles, cans, caps, labels, signs, posters and promotional items. The same is true for services including transport, advertising, information systems, legal and accounting services. The value of locally sourced goods and services exceeds LBP 4.5 billion a year. In a major environmental initiative, the company has launched CedaRoots as part of the Ministry of Environment's effort to restore the cedar forests that were a prominent part of Lebanon's history. The company has begun planting a forest near Jezzine in the south of Lebanon. Ultimately a total of 500 cedars will be planted in an area of 16,000 square meters.
