Facts and information about Coca-Cola's existance and mainstay in the country of Turkey. Year Introduced 1965 Interesting Facts Coca-Cola Bottlers of Turkey (CCBT) is the authorized local bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company. CCBT is jointly owned by Anadolu Holding (40%); Ozgorkey Group (20%) and the company (40%). More than 235,000 retail customers make Coca-Cola products available to Turkish consumers. The retail customers are served by more than 500 independent distributors as well as a direct delivery fleet of 2,000 trademarked vehicles. Project Hope aims to provide Turkey's large population of homeless working children with marketable, income-earning skills. The company began by establishing a training facility near Istanbul. The Turkish Directorate of Social Security and Protection of Children is heavily involved. Project Hope is meant to be a model for joint efforts among the private, public and volunteer sectors. "Coke Art-Folk Art" supports the Turkish Ministry of Culture in promoting local folk art traditions. Folk artists were invited to create Coke bottles using their own distinctive forms of handicraft. Finalists included examples in woodwork, copperwork, tilework, basketweaving and kilim weaving. The winning bottle was embroidered in needlework by 20 Turkish women. It displays more than 8,000 individual motifs. An exhibit of the bottles toured Turkey in 2001, then began a series of international exhibitions in Austria, the Netherlands and the United States. The Turkish Public Relations Association awarded "Coke Art-Folk Art" its Golden Compass award.
