Collin Michael's Story

Our Baby Collin Michael Fox was born still on September 28, 1997. I woke up early that morning and thought that I had food poisoning. My husband and I went the nearest hospital which was not my hospital. There they did an ultra sound and they couldn't find his heart beat. I was shocked I thought that the first few months of the pregnancy was the most critical. I knew it was possible to lose a baby in your last trimester but I never thought it would have been me.

I was then transferred to the hospital where I was supposed to wait until I was dilated so I could deliver. I was having a lot of pain in my stomach and felt as though I was coming in and out of consciousness but the dr.'s at the hospital didn't seem to notice.

When I finally arrived at my hospital I waited for about a half hour and the Dr. finally came to see me. He asked the nurses where my blood test were. They hadn't taken any. The dr. then rushed out and said to get her into surgery she is hemorrhaging eternally. So then I was rushed into surgery.

I had waited a few days to see Collin. I had lost a lot of blood and was taking a lot of medication so I was really out of it. When I saw him he looked like a normal baby just real still. He had 10 fingers, 10 toes and a head full brown hair like his dad's.

It has been amost 3 years since I lost Collin but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. He only lived inside of me for 34 weeks but he will be a part of our family forever
