In the three billion year history of the legendary Green Lantern Corps, one name outshines all others. Known as the greatest of the Green Lanterns, he is Hal Jordan of Earth, Space Sector 2814. His many years as the emerald gladiator brought him recognition throughout the cosmos.
Hal was once a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft when he met Abin Sur. Abir Sur was a dying Green Lantern and chose Hal to replace him. Through the years, Hal defended Earth and the rest of the galaxy. Although he was only one of 3600 Green Lanterns of the GLC (Green Lantern Corps), he was considered the leader because of his fearlessness and amazing will-power. When he lost Coast City, however, Hal went insane and murdered the entire corps. He stole the power of the Guardians of the Universe and proceeded to do whatever. When he resurfaced, he had taken the name of Parallax and tried to restart time. He failed and lost most of his power. That led to a battle on the now deserted Oa with the current and only Green Lantern, a man named Kyle Rayner. Their battle ultimately led to the distruction of Oa, but not before Parallax replenished his power. After a while, after the Suneater arrived, Hal came and saved Earth. This, however, came with the ultimate price, his life. However, it didn't end there. When "Judgement Day" showed up, Sentinel showed up and brought Hal back to be the host of Spectre, God's right hand of vengence. Spectre chose Hal to be his host, but as a punishment. Spectre decreed that Hal Jordan will be spirit of vengence and judge everybody until he has redeemed of his crimes.
