Mr. Ed Caudle of Caudle’s Kennel Above


Ed Caudle joined the Marine Corps when he was 17 years old. He fought on Iwo Jima during World War II, and won a boxing crown while serving in the Armed Services. Ed was an iron worker by trade and served as a union representative


Ed Caudle field trialed for more than forty years and began training dogs professionally in 1950, and did seasonal iron work on the side. He handled several dogs for Al Dax of the Chicago area, making champions of them.

At Caudle’s Kennels Ed Caudle offered a complete kennel service and training and handling for field dogs. He trained and developed Caudle’s Leader to a field trial championship and a record of wins and placements that reached a total of ninety – nine.




One of Ed’s most well known dogs was IB’s Heir Biff. While Biff did not win any American Field recognized stakes, he was a good producer, siring some fifteen winners that accumulated 51 placements. Ed Caudle also developed and trained several F.T. Champions for other owners. Mr. Caudle served a one year term as president for the National German Shorthaired Pointer Association and was an active member of The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Michigan.
