HOME VIDEO INFORMATION
Lucky Charms cereal has included three Toy Story 2-themed card games in boxes of its cereal. These cards are supposed to be in conjunction with the home video/DVD release of the film, as they state "Coming to Video!" Toy Story 2 will be released on VHS and DVD on Tuesday, October 17, 2000. The film will be released in two different DVD sets with the original Toy Story (1995). The DVD 2-Pack will feature both movies with a limited number of supplements including two Pixar shorts, outtakes, and sneak peaks. The same day, The Ultimate Toy Box: 3-Disc Collector's Edition set will feature both films with filmmakers' audio commentary, sound effects-only and music-only tracks, plus an entire third disc of extra features. The third disc will also include the original trailers and TV ads, the outtakes from the film, behind-the-scenes features on the production of the movie, art and stills gallery, storyboards, deleted animation, music videos, and much more. All the Toy Story DVDs will be direct digital transfers: that is, Pixar will transfer the movie straight from their computers onto discs. It will be only the third time that films will receive such a direct digital transfer to DVD; the first was Pixar's 1999 DVD releases of A Bug's Life. For more info on the DVDs, including complete specifications, click here.

In addition, there will be an August 8 VHS and DVD release for Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins. This is the first three episodes of the new TV cartoon which will begin this fall. The show will focus on the intergalactic adventures of our favorite space ranger, the real Buzz Lightyear. It will feature standard animation, but the opening segment will be computer-animated. None of the movie cast members will provide voices for the series, except Wayne Knight (Al McWhiggen).
