Toronto show biz comes out of its coma
A banner year ... with some exceptions

Garth Drabinsky, the embattled theatrical impresario, was a wanted man in the United States, where he dared not set foot unless he was prepared to face charges he swindled shareholders of the defunct Livent out of billions. But for more than four years Drabinsky has been able to conduct business in Canada on his home turf. He had even orchestrated an impressive comeback. Then after a long delay, the RCMP announced in October that Drabinsky and three other former Livent executives were being charged with many counts of fraud. Freed on bail, Drabinsky and his famous lawyer, Edward Greenspan, insist he's the victim and will eventually be vindicated.
