Official Biography for *Ang.

Arista Records and PoDunk Productions are pleased to announce the arrival of a phenomenal new talent. This artist is on the rise, and has just inked a deal that will keep her in the Arista family for years to come. *Ang, is truly a force to be reckoned with, and will without a doubt find fame, fortune, and immense success. She has just signed a multi-million dollar contract with Arista, which plans to release her first full-length album on January 28. Arista hopes that the album Don’t Make Me Kick Your A$$ will rise high a-top the charts on the strength of the Multi-Platinum Debut single “I’m Not That Kind of Girl.”

*Ang was born into relative prosperity and influence on May 4, 1980. The daughter of a German heiress and a wealthy Los Angeles banker, *Ang spent her younger years traveling throughout England, France, and the United States because of her father’s job. At the age of five, *Ang was sent to England for boarding school; a year later, her father abandoned the family, something that would have a profound effect on her for the rest of her life. More upheaval followed in 1987, when her mother moved her and two sons from a previous marriage to the San Fernando Valley: the following year *Ang attended public school for the first time, and her and her family were forced to endure the resulting hardships. During what she refers to as “The Great Depression”, *Ang suffered from malnutrition witnessed various acts of Gang brutality, and at one point was forced into hiding with her family. One thing that helped her through the “poor” years was her love of dance. She had been classically trained in ballet since the age of five, and she continued to harness those skills, as well as her love for singing.

It was her love of dance that ultimately led *Ang to her music career. After getting their feet back on the ground, her family relocated to Bel Air, where the songstress continued to train as a performer and modeled for extra money. *Ang’s dedication led to work doing background vocals for Savage Garden in 1995. The same year, she and her mother moved to London, where *Ang had been given a dance school scholarship. Continuing to model on the side, she decided that because of her height and lack of training, her future was not in dance. She tried out for and won a part in the chorus line of the stage show A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and was soon working regularly on the stage. It was during the show’s third run that fate struck for the young performer in the form of a chance encounter with Cy Lewis. The famed playwright decided that *Ang would be perfect for the title role in PoP, and *Ang was soon off to New York to star in the Off-Broadway show.

It was there, while performing on stage as a “wannabe Diva” in 1998, that *Ang was discovered by Rocky McGwire, of PoDunk Productions. Rocky, seeing the overflow of talent from the then 18 year old, and recognizing her potential, immediately inked the young starlet to PoDunk label. Rocky brought in famed choreographer Fatima Robinson, of Backstreet Boys fame, and let *Ang, along with Fatima, have full creative control of her career.

After long hours of practice, and ounce upon ounce of perspiration, her hard work finally paid off. While performing at the Oviedo Marketplace in Orlando, FL, *Ang was spotted by Arista representative Scott Summers. Scott immediately got *Ang into the studio, and she was right at home. The album, which usually takes even the biggest stars months to complete, was completed in the course of a little under a month. *Ang, a perfectionist, spent 21 hours a day in the studio, making sure everything was just right.

*Ang has now hit the road and you can catch her soon in a city near you. Her debut single “I’m Not That Kind of Girl” has reached #2 on the Billboard charts in just it’s third week of release. The album drops on January 28th, and it comes with *Ang’s guarentee: “You’ll like it, or you won’t.”
