Greg previously lived in the town of Eugene, Oregon, where he played with a band called "Jollymon". Jollymon released an album, "Sailing", for Elemental Records in 1993, just before Greg moved to Portland.
Following a brief stint with a band called "Nero's Rome", Greg joined Everclear after Scott Cuthbert was dismissed. Later, Greg married his college sweetheart, Ellina in July 1997.
