Ellis House

This section of my page features a photo of the Ellis house, which was the building located furthest to the east in Lincoln during the war. At the time, it also served as a small general store, but didn't give much competition to L. G. Murphy (or later, Jas J. Dolan) & Co. Throughout the war's course, it became known as a rendezvous spot for the Regulators. During the Five-Day Battle, several Regulators took up positions in this house, until they were forced to flee by Col. Nathan Dudley and his troops. Today, it serves as a popular bed and breakfast.
