The Batmobile is the personal vehicle of Batman. It has evolved and appears in many different versions over the years, but always is the vehicle that is used by the Caped Crusader in his war on crime.
The Batmobile has undergone many different designs over the years. The first Batmobile was a simple road car, and the second design was a sedan. These are Golden Age designs. In the 50s, it became a hot rod then a sports coupe. Finally, it became a drag racing model, and it stayed that way for a long time.
The Batmobile entered the Silver Age as the sixth model, and this started the Batmobile as we know it today. This one was a jet black, slick, sleek super fast car. It ran on high-octane jet fuel and could go 245 mph. This was one of the fastest Batmobiles. It's windows could vary from opaque to clear and were bulletproof. It had braking parachutes, and it was covered in extremely tough armor. It had an automatic pilot, defense console, GPS system, computer that linked to the Batcave, ejector seat, defense console, and more.
It was upgraded then to the seventh and current model of the Batmobile. Again, this model was similar to the sixth, just upgraded. It could go 266 mph and was turbo-charged. It was even stronger in armor, it was heavily protected. It also worked as a lab. The tires were Kevlar-lined and they were puncture-proof and flame-resistant. It had rear defenses like oil slicks and smoke clouds, and was fully automated and voice activated. It had a GPS and was linked to the Batcave. It also had a sophisticated anti-theft system, with five stages. First, it locked down and made all interior surfaces electrified. Then, poison gas was released while an SOS was sent to the Batcave. Hypersonic trilling spheres were then released, and motion tracking glue nozzles ejected super adhesive foam. The final stage was self-destruction.
Over the years the Batmoblie has been modified and improved. There have been so many that it is difficult to determine how many Batmobiles there are. Batman currently creates a new Batmobile more than once in a year. However he keeps every model he creates and can be seen reusing some on more than one occasion.
