Solomon Grundy

During the later part of the 19th Century, Cyrus Gold was killed and left to rot in Slaughter Swamp. His remains were never found and over the process of half a century the organic muck collected around his corpse and mysteriously one day took on its own life. With limited memory of his previous existence, the swamp monster found his way to a hobo camp after robbing a pair of escaped criminals of their clothes. When asked his name, he replied that he did not have one, but that he had been born on a Monday. One of the hobos remarked he was like the nursery rhyme character and named the monster Solomon Grundy.
