Magnus’ legendary breakthrough was the invention of the Responsometer, a microcomputer that could animate pure metals, turning lifeless substances into humanoids capable of independent thought.
Each of Magnus’ “Metal Men” demonstrated not only powers, reflective of their chemical properties, but, surprisingly, personalities to match. Mercury is volatile, Platinum is glamorous, stuttering Tin feel expendable and so on, but all of them share, at their core, their creator’s nobility.
Heroic by nature, the Metal Man specialize in defending Earth from the unique menace of cutting-edge science gone wrong, often sacrificing their “lives” with the faith their beloved “Doc” can somehow salvage their Responsmeters and rebuild them as he has hundreds of times before.
